Summer Camp Registration

By Marc h 5 we will be passing out priority packets for SUMMER CAMP 2008. You all qualify for a priority packet since your child is already enrolled in our after school program. You also qualify if you maintain a $0.00 balance each week. The packets will be due on April 16.

That gives you about 6 weeks to fill it out and return it with your registration fee of $65.00 per child. If you miss the due date you may loose your spot. When returning your packet, please hand it to me personally so I can check for errors.

Chess Tournament

For the last couple of weeks the counselors have been teaching the kids how to play chess. This is to lead up to our chess tournament that will be held at our corporate offices. Our 2 best players, one from K-2^nd grade and one from 3^rd -5^th grade will represent Citrus Glen at our corporate offices tournament. They will play against the best competitors from the other 5 Lpcc sites.

Minimum Days & Inservice Days

Marc h 6, 7, 10 & 11 are minimum days. Grades 1^st-5^th will get out of school at 11:40. The kindergartners will get out at 11:35. It is $2.00 extra for all days except for Friday. Fridays are already included in your weekly fees.

There is no sign up necessary for minimum days. We will be expecting your children earlier than usual so please call by 12:30pm if your child will be absent. Remember, there is a $5.00 no call fee. On minimum days, children can only come on the days they are normally signed up for.

March 21 & 24 are inservice days for the teachers. There will be no school but Lpcc will be open @ Serra School from 7:00am-6:30pm.

You must sign your child up for these days if you need daycare. The sign up list will be posted on March 12. Deadline will be Marc h 19

Spring Break is March 31-April 4

Spring break packets will go out March 17. I will place the packets in your child’s file when they are ready to go out. The due date will be posted on the cover of the packet. If you do not sign up for the break you do not have to pay for that week. You only pay for the days you sign up for.

American Idol

When we get back from Spring Break we are going to have an American Idol talent show. We will schedule it for a Friday afternoon and get all the kids together that want to perform. We ask that kids prepare/rehearse a song, dance or song & dance routine. They may perform alone or in a group. Instruments may also be used. We will not choose a winner because we’re just doing this for fun and we think the kids will enjoy it.

Art Show 2008

Near the end of May we will have an art show for all the parents and families here at Lpcc. Your children will be working on these projects on and off for a couple of months. The kids and staff put a lot of time into this. They love showing off their talents and hard work.

The art show is a fun family night. We turn the room into an art gallery and serve pizza dinners outside on the grass. We sell the art as a fundraiser and ask that you only buy your child’s art.
